As the firm’s Director of Operations and Integrator, JD Matheus plays a critical role in turning vision into execution. He oversees operations, staff, vendor management, financials, and HR, working closely with leadership and every department to ensure the firm operates efficiently and continues to grow in a purposeful, sustainable way. JD’s role allows him to collaborate across the entire organization while helping align people, processes, and priorities.
JD brings more than 20 years of experience in the sports industry, where he developed a deep passion for operations, leadership, and team dynamics. His background in high-performance environments shaped his ability to manage complex systems, support strong teams, and create structure in fast-paced settings. After completing his Executive MBA, JD sought an opportunity to lead operations within a growing firm built on great people, strong culture, and meaningful impact—making Kevin McManus Law a natural fit.
What JD enjoys most about his role is the ability to collaborate with all departments and see the tangible results of strategic planning and execution. He thrives in environments where teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement are valued.
An Active Lifestyle and a Commitment to Growth
Outside of work, JD enjoys staying active by going to the gym, biking, and spending time outdoors. He also enjoys playing golf and softball with friends, finding balance through activity, competition, and connection.
JD’s educational background reflects his well-rounded leadership approach. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration from the University of Houston, a Master’s degree in Sports Psychology from John F. Kennedy University, and an Executive MBA from UMKC—a combination that blends strategy, human behavior, and operational excellence.
