As the firm’s Digital Marketing Specialist, Maria brings a thoughtful, people-first approach to building strategies that help the firm connect with and serve more individuals in the local community. With experience in both law and technology, and a global perspective shaped by years abroad, she is driven by a deep sense of purpose—to help people find the support they need when they need it most.
Originally from Mexico and raised in Kansas City, Maria has always been curious about different cultures and perspectives. Her passion for learning and exploring the world led her to London, where she earned her Master’s degree from Goldsmiths, University of London. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree from Rockhurst University, which laid the foundation for her interest in communication, advocacy, and justice. While in London, she worked for a legal technology company, further strengthening her experience at the intersection of law, tech, and outreach.
Now at the firm, Maria is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that reflect the firm’s mission. From content creation and outreach campaigns to digital engagement and community connection, she uses her creative skillset to make sure more people in need know where to turn for help.
A Curious Mind and a Compassionate Heart
Outside of work, Maria can often be found reading, swimming, trying new food, or spending time with friends and family. She loves history, Korean dramas, concerts, and traveling to places that challenge her to grow and step outside her comfort zone.
What she values most about her work is that it gives her a clear purpose: “I like that I’m able to help people. The firm’s philosophy gives my work real meaning.”
Her favorite quote, from John 13:7, reflects her trust in the journey:
