We initiated a wrongful death suit against a daycare center in Wyandotte County, Kansas, on behalf of a mother of a young child who was found dead in a crib at the center.

Our investigation found that the daycare center had received multiple citations from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KSDHE), including citations for failure to follow safe sleep practices.  We engaged experts and conducted discovery. Our findings indicated that, in addition to the failure to follow safe sleep practices, the daycare had failed to monitor and check on the child while sleeping as required by Kansas daycare regulations.

After we filed suit, the KSDHE revoked the day care’s license, and the center permanently closed its doors. The case was settled for a confidential amount shortly thereafter.
